Gregor Samsa’s obvious psychological change as stated in Franz Kafka’s work entitled “Metamorphosis” is further investigated through Walter H. Sokel’s brilliant argument regarding the condition of Gregor’s transformation, both physically and mentally. It goes to say without a doubt that Gregor Samsa’s chance is an odd one. Debatably, one could say this chance occurred due to the suppression of Gregor’s thoughts and feelings that he repressed throughout his life. Whether or not the change caused by this suppression is purely psychological or not, is completely based off of how one chooses to interoperate the story.
In the story “Metamorphosis”, one could argue that Gregor’s physical chance into an insect-like creature was simply a byproduct
