Franz Kafka was a 20th century German language novelist and short story writer. Kafka is most known for his story called “The Metamorphosis”, which was translated to English by another short story writer, Ann Charters. Kafka is recognized as the most influential author in western literature.
In his story, “The Metamorphosis,” Kafka uses many building blocks of fiction to develop a story that we all can relate to in real life situations. In this journal entry, I am going to talk about themes and symbols. I will show how Kafka used these building blocks to develop an influential story.
