The wage gap and earnings gap are two different things that are often getting confused with each other. The wage gap is when a women and a man work the same hours and job but one gender gets paid more than the other. Many say that women are paid less while men get paid more even though they work at the same job. In many cases this is true but only due to a couple of reasons. One of the main reasons for either gender being paid more is the amount of hours they put in. One get paid for the hours they put in rather than just getting paid over what gender they identify with. The amount of money that either gender makes is based on the choices that both men and women make. “The gender wage gap can only be fixed by forcing women to make different choices”(para.18).
