Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is a condition which is often developed due to bad habits and not taking care of the body. It usually appears when an individual’s body develops resistance against the natural actions of insulin. It usually happens when people get overweight and generally have a stagnant life style. The disease needs to be managed with medicine once it is diagnosed.
The first line of treatment in type 2 medicine is the drug, Metformin. It is a drug which is proven to reduce the rate of mortality among the affected individuals. This drug can decrease the production of glucose which happens in the liver.
There are other drugs as well that help in controlling the type 2 diabetes. Some of them increase the sensitivity of the body to the insulin while others increase the production of the natural enzyme. Long action insulin is often used when patients find it difficult to manage the condition with medicines.
